What is ECTS?

• ECTS D = approximately 2.3 to 2.6 US GPA

• ECTS E = approximately 2.0 to 2.2 US GPA

• ECTS FX/F = Fail

• ECTS A = First Class

• ECTS B = Upper Second (2:1)

• ECTS C = Lower Second (2:2)

• ECTS D = Third Class

Important limitations to understand

Because ECTS grades are relative to the cohort, two students with ECTS B grades from different institutions and different years may have achieved different absolute scores.
